A mini vacation
A few weekends ago my husband and I fled the island of Sicily in search of some much needed relaxation. We ended up in the Aeolian Islands (go figure, more islands) for a few days. Word to the wise: the first stop on the hydrofoil is NOT Lipari. Needless to say, we figured that out after we got off on Vulcano and the boat had already departed. Oh well, we actually enjoyed seeing a little bit of this island! Here are a few other things I learned on our trip:
1. My husband does have an ounce of romance in him :) (see below picture)
2. I get violently motion sick on small boats. Not cool.
3. Tuna are actually really big fish and not the size of the can they come in!
We got to see the volcano of Stromboli erupt several times from our boat. The Aeolian Islands are absolutely gorgeous. There is definitely something to be said about small town, island living. All in all, we had a great time, even though it rained the last day. It's amazing how much a few days away with the person you love can refresh your soul :)

Springtime in Sicily!
I thought it was time for me to post again to let everyone know that I'm still here! In all fairness, I did warn you from the beginning that I'm HORRIBLE at blogging! I'm taking a quick break, as in an hour or two, to edit and post some of these gorgeous spring shots just because they're so beautifully delicious. Then it's back to editing all of my amazing client photos :) Due to increased theft of my photos, I had to plaster them with my logo and copyright information :( I still want to share my photos with all of you, so this is how it will have to be from now on. Stealing sucks people!! Anywho, enjoy these shots of Sunny Sicily. This is the most beautiful time of year :)

Vegas Baby!!
A few weeks ago my husband and I took a trip to the States and visited my family for a short few days. From there, we hopped a flight to Vegas to see the NASCAR race. This was my 6th time is Vegas, my husband's first. AND his first race! The morning at the track was pretty chilly, which you can see by the 10 layers of clothing I'm wearing. I felt like a marshmallow. By the afternoon it warmed up nicely so we were able to enjoy the race and all Vegas had to offer. I hope you enjoy these pics as much as I do :)

I'm Back!!
So after dealing with a bunch of internet shenanigans, I'm finally able to update my blog! For the last few weeks my internet has been slower than dial up, which would have made uploading pictures pretty much impossible. Have no fear, it's fixed and nice and speedy. Since it's been a while, I'm posting 2 different shoots in one post. Only because it's the Mom's maternity shots and then her newborn shots ;)
Last year Alexandra and her fiance, Alejandro, came to see me for their maternity portraits. We had lots of fun shooting on a beautiful day by the cable cars.

After their son, Vincent, was born, they brought him over at a wee 7 days old. Let's just say he was less than happy to be here. After about 2 hours of trying to calm him down, we decided it was probably best to try it the next day. Sure enough, he was a lot happier the next day :) But that little bugger still wouldn't sleep! In order to make up for it, he gave us some adorable expressions. My favorite is the pouty face!!

The Chao Family
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful Chao family. First of all I will say that they were all perfectly dressed. If you need some inspiration on what to wear for your upcoming shoot, please see below! It's the perfect example of coordinating without being too matchy-matchy. Their newborn daughter, Kailey, surprised us all and slept through the entire shoot! I couldn't believe she didn't wake up once, considering it was an outdoor shoot, we were moving around a lot and chatting the whole time. I told Mom and Dad that if we were in the studio it would be a different story and we would be fighting to get her to sleep! Meet the Chao Family - Willie, Sharon, Katrina, and Kailey :)

Down By the Bay
Andrew and Melissa came to see me a few months ago for their family portraits. They brought along their 2 adorable fur-babies, Layla and Mijo. The pooches were more than happy to explore their new surroundings and smell all of the new smells. We were able to get some great shots by the water before we found a hidden field with blooming flowers and wild cows. There was only one problem - the cows were not happy with us being in their territory! They kept their distance, but they stared us down like they were ready to charge. Needless to say, we got the shots we needed and ran like hell out of there! We ended our session with a beautiful, orange sunset over the water. Enjoy :)
